SeaCross Software Engineer (Software Test)

The SeaCross navigation system is a modular, scalable and fully integrated system specifically designed to meet the requirements for High Speed operations in littoral, coastal and open waters. Born in Scandinavia, the SeaCross system was developed based on extensive operation of high-speed crafts in this exceptionally demanding navigational environment.

The SeaCross system is predominantly used by military special forces, police, fire fighters, customs and sea rescue organizations. 

As a software test engineer on the SeaCross software team you will ensure the correctness and performance of the SeaCross navigation system. You will be fully responsible for software test lifecycle including testing in development to final verification and certification of the navigation system.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop environments for automated testing that allows software team to move fast with high confidence in the quality of the code.

  • Invent new tools that enable more frequent and reliable software deployment, test execution, and data analysis.

  • Perform hands-on integration and troubleshooting of navigation hardware/software systems.

  • Occasional travel to customer sites for testing and/or operations.

Basic qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, math or science discipline and 1+ years of experience in software development OR 4+ years of experience in software development

  • Experience with scripting languages (Ruby, Python, Perl)

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Creative approach to problem solving

  • Self-driven with a strong sense of quality

  • Strong skills in debugging, network troubleshooting and testing

  • Experience working with embedded and/or fault tolerant software

  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing needs and requirements

  • Ability to work independently and in a team, take initiative, and communicate effectively

It’s less important if you have a Computer Science degree or if you are self-taught. What matters is your engineering skills and experience, and your drive to constantly improve.
